The rubber conveyor belt is a type of belt with fabric layers made from synthetic fibers woven longitudinally or transversely. Common fabrics are Polyester and Nylon.
- Polyester is a synthetic fiber derived from coal, air, water, and petroleum. Developed in laboratories in the early 20th century, polyester fibers are formed from chemical reactions between acids and ethanol. During this reaction, multiple molecules combine to form a long repeating chain.
- Nylon was first synthesized by Professor Wallace Hume Carothers at DuPont (USA) in 1935 from petroleum-based chemicals. This synthetic fiber was stronger, more elastic, and more durable than other natural or synthetic fibers of its time.
The rubber conveyor belt manufacturing industry quickly applied these advancements, creating a high-performance belt product with increased tensile strength and corrosion resistance for use in harsh production environments.
Rubber conveyor belts are widely used in industries like coal, cement, fertilizer, animal feed, and mining due to their durability and safety features. The rubber surface meets quality standards, preventing cracking and the penetration of harmful substances that could accelerate the aging of fabric layers. With good moisture and water resistance, the belt’s lifespan is extended, particularly in humid conditions. Depending on the application, these belts can also withstand temperatures below 150°C. Rubber conveyor belts are particularly suited for handling bulk materials with high capacities of 150 to 500 tons/hour, including bags, crates, and bundled packages with high transport capacities. Their strengths include resistance to impact, flexibility, and suitability for long transport distances.
